Our curious and enthusiastic Year 1 students have stepped into the world of science during a special hands-on incursion in the senior Science laboratories.

Guided by three of our passionate Science teachers, dedicated lab assistants and the wonderful support of Year 11 mentors Eva Aldridge and Paige Hays, the students explored the fascinating world of "forces". The session brought their current Science unit to life, with interactive experiments focusing on "push and pull" forces.

From bending water to exploring gravity, friction, air pressure and electrostatic forces, our young learners eagerly discovered how these invisible forces shape the world around them.

Being part of an R–12 college means opportunities like these aren’t just possible—they’re part of what makes our learning environment so rich and rewarding. We’re proud to see cross-age learning in action and see our future scientists become so inspired.

Our college community is proud to celebrate the success of Keira Tucker (Year 7) and Tom Ainsworth (Year 10), whose dedication to swimming has earned them national recognition.

Congratulations to Keira, who has been selected to represent School Sport SA at the School Sport Australia 12 Years and Under Swimming Championship. The event will take place in Ballarat, Victoria, from 25–29 October. 

A special shoutout also goes to Tom, who recently competed at the 2025 Australian Age and Multi-Class Championships in Brisbane. Tom reached three finals and achieved outstanding results:

🥉 Bronze in the Multi-Class 200m Freestyle – 3rd highest point scorer in Australia

🥈 Silver in the Multi-Class 100m Freestyle – 2nd highest point scorer nationally

💪 5th highest point scorer in the 50m Freestyle

Tom’s journey in Para-swimming over the past two years has been one of growth, resilience, and dedication. With strong support from his coaches and team, he’s looking ahead to more races, new experiences — and most importantly — plenty of fun.

Well done to both Keira and Tom on these incredible milestones.

Tatachilla’s mountain-bikers have hit the trails with grit and determination as part of the School Sport SA Mountain Bike Championships at Sturt Gorge Recreation Park on 8–9 May.

Representing the school with pride, our students embraced the challenge and camaraderie of the event, competing against some of the best young riders from across the state.

Year 7 and 8 teams:
Ben Williams, Flynn Orrock, Oliver Agius, Jacobo Mejia-Velez, Dylan Fanning, Adin Minnie and Harry Butler
Results: 17th and 22nd out of 66 teams

Year 9 and 10 team:
Lachlan Rouvray, Jenson Cole, Lachlan Fanning and Jake Ayres
Result: 22nd out of 51 teams

Year 5 and 6 team:
Cole Bradley, Hugh Chivers, Hugh Semmens and Austin Marshall
Result: 29th out of 98 teams

The event was not only a celebration of athleticism but also of teamwork and perseverance. Our riders enjoyed a thrilling few days of racing and are already looking forward to next year’s competition. Congratulations to all students involved.

The college is excited to announce that it will be presenting its second SALA exhibition, Walk in My Shoes, on 28 August 2025.

Walk in My Shoes will feature imaginative and thought-provoking works by students in Year 7, 8, 9, and 11. Created during Semester 1, 2025, the exhibition will invite viewers to explore surreal footwear, personal journeys and meaningful memories of place.

Our families are invited to SAVE THE DATE and join us for the opening night and awards presentation on 28 August in the Tatachilla EcoSanctuary. This will be an important opportunity for our college community to celebrate our young artists and step into the stories they have brought to life through art.

The college is gearing up to shine at the McLaren Vale Marathon on 1 June 2025 and it's not too late to join Team Tatachilla.

Many Tatachilla students are already running in the Kids' Dash and several college staff members have committed to the 10km, 21km and 42km events. We're inviting all families to come out and support our runners, noting that the college will be operating its own drink station track-side.

Our students in Years 5–7 have also thrown themselves behind this fantastic community event by creating 21 colourful kilometre markers and posters that will line the course — plus they’ve written over 200 personalised letters to marathon entrants.
