Tatachilla announces new Early Learning Centre

Tatachilla Lutheran College has announced the construction of a new Early Learning Centre, marking an exciting step in its vision for families across the Fleurieu.

The construction of the new purpose-built Early Learning Centre is supported by a Flying Start Infrastructure Grant from the South Australian Government, for which the college is very grateful.

The Tatachilla ELC will welcome children from three to four years of age and will expand Tatachilla’s vision of providing a connected, relational learning journey for families across the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The centre will initially cater for 60 children before increasing capacity over time. It will operate 48 weeks of the year and offer long-day care from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

College Principal Mrs Alison Thacker said that the project represents a significant milestone for the Tatachilla community.

“The establishment of our Early Learning Centre is an exciting and important moment in the life of Tatachilla Lutheran College,” Mrs Thacker said.

“For many years, families have expressed a desire to begin their Tatachilla journey earlier. This centre will allow us to nurture belonging, confidence and curiosity in children from their earliest years, while strengthening our partnerships with families during these formative stages of development.”

The Early Learning Centre will be located on the Tatachilla campus and will feature strong links to the college’s unique EcoSanctuary and nature-based learning environments.

Aligned to Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework, the centre will focus on play-based learning that supports identity, connection, wellbeing, confidence and communication.

Construction is expected to commence in the coming months, with the Early Learning Centre anticipated to open in 2027.

Further updates regarding enrolments, leadership appointments and naming of the centre will be shared as the project progresses.
