Our students emerge from the middle years confident and ready to meet the challenges of their senior years. Differentiated programs allow for acceleration, enrichment and support. Students get to specialise in subjects that play to their interests and strengths. Committed teachers who are passionate about their subject specialties, work closely with each child in an atmosphere of collaboration and respect.
Student life in the senior years is not only about study. Having a strong sense of self and balance is critical. Opportunities to engage in co-curricular, College and community events is strongly encouraged.
Tatachilla cares about the wellbeing of all its students. A carefully designed pastoral care program caters to the changing needs of students as they progress through their middle years and senior years of schooling. Our new Year 7 to 12 Flourish/Wellbeing House system strengthens student identity experiences, builds peer to peer learning opportunities and allows each child to flourish and achieve their full potential. Leadership experiences through representation on the Student Representative Council and our strong focus on service learning, further foster the development of capabilities needed beyond Year 12.
In Year 10 the focus is on resilience - social, academic and emotional. Key initiatives include an outdoor camp program; preparation for examinations and preparation for work experience. In Years 10 - 12 much work is done preparing students for life beyond school, with careful subject counselling, discussion of career paths and visits from tertiary and TAFE institutions through our Futures Day events.
Tatachilla aims to give students a life-long love of learning, a high sense of self-worth and a desire to make a difference as responsible global citizens.
