Planting Day

On Wed 22 May 2013 Tatachilla Lutheran College students joined His Excellency the Governor of His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, the CEO of Trees For Life (TFL) Greg Boundy, members of Trees For Life, staff from the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Board and students from Willunga Primary School at the Beckmann property at Hindmarsh Valley for a planting day.

Despite the rainy conditions, over 500 local native seedlings were planted with great enthusiasm. Plantings will assist in the stabilisation of the creek bank and also create great habitat for the local wild life in years to come.  Fast and efficient planting allowed time for students to undertake a tour of the Beckmann property with the NRM  representative, Jaqui Best and land holder Sharon Beckmann, where they learned about the benefits of revegetation and removal of stock from sites that were once flourishing with native flora and fauna.

Congratulations to all students involved. It was also great to see Old Scholar, Maddie Aird assisting on the day.
