from the head of MIDDLE SCHOOL
These years are crucial in your son’s or daughter’s educational journey. At the heart of teaching and learning in the Middle School is the understanding that all students learn differently – every journey is unique to the individual. It is our privilege to join them at this point in time, to offer help and guidance to them.
Middle School includes Years 7 through to 9, and almost half of our students join Middle School from the Junior School here at Tatachilla. The balance of students join us in Year 8, which is still the main point of transition for many students. To assist each one of these students to reach their potential their assessment tasks are designed to offer a variety of experiences. Emphasis is placed on developing higher order thinking skills, and this gives students the opportunity to explore and consider the ways in which they learn best. Staff within Middle School support students in their daily walk through genuine care and concern, committed to providing pastoral support. This combined approach of supporting and directing student learning while also building a sense of community allows our students to strive to be the best they can.
If you would like to know more about Middle School, please spend some time navigating through our web site. Make a time to speak with someone about the opportunities for your child, or book into one of our regular Principal’s Tours – we’d love to see you.
