From the Head of Junior School
When a student is enrolled into the Junior School we enrol a whole family. We invite and encourage families to walk closely with us in a partnership of learning for the children entrusted to our care.
We understand that students come to us with a wide range of talents, abilities and interests. Our aim is to give our students a rich range of experiences, building on their current skills and learning.
We believe that sound basic literacy and numeracy skills are the critical building blocks of learning and we provide support especially in the younger years, to provide the best possible foundation for future years.
Since Tatachilla Lutheran College is a community where we encourage all members to have a concern for and to care for all other members, the Junior School is also a place of introduction to this culture. A social skills program is used across year levels centred around the key skills of Getting Along, Persistence, Organisation and Confidence in order to develop resilience. We would like our students to not only survive, but to thrive.
While the large majority of our students are taken in at Reception level, placements are offered as vacancies occur at other levels.
